The Biggest Loser

I'm a fat guy, as some of you know.  I can easily go XXL shirt, but prefer the 3XL for the extra room and I really like the 3XL-T.  I like a tall shirt, because all my height is in my torso.  I'm the lucky guy that gets to buy his pants with the 30 inch inseam and then still get to make farmer cuffs or have a inch and a half hemmed up.  I feel sorry for my children, because they already kind of look long in the torso, but I hope they have a lot of growing to do and they will get some legs.

Now that you have the mental image of a circus freak in your head, we'll continue on.

For my size, I consider myself to be a pretty nimble guy.  I could run if a chain saw murderer was chasing me, I like to get out and take part in activities and sports, and I don't use the scooter to do my shopping.  It seems like my fellow rotund people are starting to use these things just for fun these days, but don't get me started on that.

With the grown folks trip to London coming up, I thought I would go see if I could upgrade my wardrobe a little bit, as to make a feeble attempt to look fashionable across the pond.  So I went on over to the Flo Mall tonight to take a look around a couple of the big & tall sections in the department stores.

Above you will find some of the crap that I found.  No, I didn't purchase any of the look at me, I'm a big fat guy t-shirts.  I guess somebody is buying them because both places had a fine selection of them.  I could have taken at least eight more photos of fine slogans, but a young lady at one of the department stores advised me that I was not supposed to be taking pictures in the store.  I so wanted to look at her and say, "Don't worry honey, it's all good when you're the big dude", but I thought better of it and put the camera away.

I know it's my fault.  I need to stop eating and spend less time with my family, so I can work out, exercise more, and get into some clothes with logo's and brand names across the front of the chest and dare I say, derriere.

In the meantime, I appreciate the stores that put in a tiny section of clothes for us people that "Run With The Big Dogs".  Simple pants & shorts, plain colored pocket tees, and casual button ups are fine for now, no slogans needed.

Yeah, I've seen some of these shirts. The one that cracks me up? Kohl's has a shirt with "Family Guy" main character Peter, who sometimes reminds me of (gulp!) me, on the front. He says "Everybody loves a Big Guy!"

The best part? I noticed they didn't have these in Small and Medium.

I'm glad some of my concert t-shirts still fit, though I wonder when I'm gonna be "that guy" at the show... you know, the one with the Dunlop Effect coming through a vintage 70s tour shirt and a giant $10 beer in my hand that I really shouldn't have... :)

Maybe I should revisit that Beyonce diet. LOL
