So The Lady and I went to London, England to spend some time with her cousins. They are living there for awhile for Mr. Cousin's job, he's a smart guy that engineers skyscrapers. Mrs. Cousin is tripping the light fantastic, being a tour guide for all of the family and friends that are going to visit them. She can tell you every area of town to avoid so not to get knifed.
We enjoyed the trip very much and got to see many things while there. The weather was pretty amazing while we were there, very out of the ordinary for that time of year from what I understand. Not only did we walk all over London, but we also took a train ride out to The Cotswolds to visit some old family friends of the wife's family.
There were highlights galore, here are just a few listed with links to take a look.
- Stunning view of overall London from atop Primrose Hill shortly after arriving in London from Gatwick Airport.
- Walking tour through The Tower Of London, led by a Beefeater that was a wonderful storyteller.
- The National Gallery which I found simply amazing.
- Trafalgar Square
- Tate Mordern Art Museum featuring an exhibit from artist Carsten Höller, which were giant slides. The Lady was giddy as a schoolgirl to go down them and she got to do it twice. Also featured were exhibits from Indian artist Amrita Sher-Gil, which was beautiful, and London's own Gilbert & George.
- Strolling through Camden Town and seeing all the punk rockers and urban hipsters on parade.
- Walking through St. John's Wood neighborhood and seeing Abbey Road Studios.
- Crossing the Millennium Bridge numerous times on foot.
- Taking high speed train out to The Cotswolds and spending the only rainy day in Moreton In Marsh, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Stow On The Wold, and Shipston-On-Stour with wife's family friends.
- The Lady got to go to the fancy Harrod's, which is a big store that prides itself as the world's most famous department store.
- Walk through St. James Park up to Buckingham Palace where folks were drapped all over the Victoria Memorial to get a peek at the changing of the guard.
- A walk through Spitalfields in the east end on Sunday afternoon. We ate lunch at Square Pie, shopped in the market, then strolled down Brick Lane, which in my opinion is the best people watching in London.
- Walking around Soho and shopping along Carnaby Street.
- Seeing the clock tower known as Big Ben and Houses of Parliament.
- Walking across Tower Bridge.
- Getting around London using the Transport for London, which operates the Tube and Buses that we used.
- Enjoying good food & beverages, and fine adult conversation with The Cousins. Mrs. Cousin is a night owl, like myself, so we enjoyed catching up and talking about all types of stuff. The conversation ranged from current events, People and Us magazines (which The Lady brought to her from the states), to what is so special about four cupcakes that makes them costs $14.
So that's just a touch on some of the things we saw and did while there in London. I've been uploading pictures from our trip to my Flickr page and that's been taking some time, but feel free to go have a look and make comments on them if you like.
Beyond that, just trying to get back in the swing of day to day with the kids and home. I'll be writing more on London when I have the time, because I have observations that I would like to share (holy crap it's expensive!), as well as keeping you up to date with my other random rambles.
Stay tuned and thanks.

Love the pictures! You did an awesome job. I especially dig Tyrone's pictures! What an Uniqua idea...
