The president of Iran is visiting Columbia University right now and I don't think many people were aware of the welcome mat that was going to be put out for him.
The president of Columbia, Lee Bollinger, went off on the leader Ahmadinejad (the guy that dresses casually and doesn't own a tie), in the best monotone, straight forward, educated way that I would expect a Ivy Leaguer to do.
I agreed with Mr. Bollinger to let the guy come on over and waste some time with crazy talk. Columbia's man, Lee Bollinger, teed him up and right now the man of leisure is spewing nonsense and avoiding the questions everyone wants him to address.
I'm thinking that some of those that protested his visit might not be so upset with Columbia, after hearing the university president's statement.
Bang. Zoom. Right to the moon.

I hear that Ahmadinejad has called in the Jena 6 and Jessie to support his right to beat up innocent people and in return Ahmadinejad has vowed to cut down all the oak trees in Iran.

This article says that Iranians view wearing a tie as overly-Western, and that both neckties and bowties are un-Islamic and "'symbols of the Cross' and the oppressive West."

Me, I don't like to wear a tie because I just don't like the 'Man' trying to keep me down.

I for one found that Ahmadinejad actually didn't sound as bad as I'd been made to expect.
Especially when he challenged America back about possession and use of Atomic weapons. I confess, I applauded.
Bollinger on the other hand I found myself wincing at.

Who would have thought I would have been trackbacked and have all of this traffic. It's too bad I will let down all of those coming here to find political conversation on a daily basis, when I get back to talking about my kids pooping and such.
